Learn more about me

Nice to meet you! I’m Madeline (she/her), and I’m an actor based in Chicago, IL but am always happy, eager, and very excited to travel to new places.

A little bit about me and theatre: my love of theatre began in a 3rd grade production of Annie where I ended up being cast as Annie. Since then, I’ve stayed involved in acting and singing and haven’t looked back! My passion for and relationship with theatre is constantly changing— each moment reveals to me a new reason why this art form is timeless, powerful, healing, and an absolute joy to be a part of.

I moved to St. Petersburg, FL right before beginning high school and shortly after I discovered my school’s Thespians Troupe (shoutout Troupe 4637!) where I competed at the regional and state levels in scenes, musical numbers, one-acts, and pantomimes. In 2018, I received the Critics’ Choice Award in Pantomime in the District 4 Thespians Festival.

My college application and audition process brought me back to Chicago at DePaul University. At DePaul, I was lucky enough to explore a variety of my theatrical and non-theatrical interests: I’ve been able to take stage combat classes and have been certified in unarmed combat, rapier and dagger, broadsword, knife, quarterstaff, and smallsword with the Society of American Fight Directors. I was able to continue vocal lessons throughout my four years of school. The Honors Program allowed me to continue exploring a wide variety of academic disciplines, along with being able to double major and minor in different disciplines while being in a conservatory-style acting program. I was selected to be a 2022-2023 HumanitiesX Student Fellow in a group of six students, where I learned how to synthesize my interests in a collaborative focused on the cohort’s theme of “The Environment: Crisis and Action.” All in all, I’m so grateful that I ended up in a place with fantastic professors and classmates who were supportive of my multi-disciplinary growth and exploration.

In June of 2023, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from DePaul University with a BFA in Acting, a double major in Political Science with a concentration in International Politics, a minor in English Literature, and a Global Fluency Certificate. I was also honored to receive the 2022-23 Joseph Slowik Scholarship at The Theatre School. In my post-grad life, I’ve continued pursuing my theatrical work, exploring my academic interests, and seeking work that blends the two. I have also been taking some much needed time to return to some of my other great loves: playing instruments, traveling, improving my Spanish speaking and grammar, and baking delicious foods!
